Many of my clients ask me about my own health protection protocol. This is part of the evidence-based information I have used to remain healthy.
Covid -19 Update: 14-01-2021
Veterinary medicine is considered an essential service by the government of Ontario, and therefore I will continue taking care of pets. Appointments are available for all health maintenance, wellness, chronic disorders, and urgent care issues.
Rest assured, your and your pet’s health is of utmost importance to me.
I offer video and phone telemedicine consultations for new and current patients. Telemedicine consultations are commonly used for individualized diet, herbal medicine (including legally available cannabis oils), and nutritional supplement guidance. Customized herbal formulations and nutritional products can then be delivered directly to your home.
In-person appointments for your pet (including diagnosis and treatments) continue during regular clinic hours, with curbside drop-off. VCA Secord Animal Hospital is open Monday-Friday 8am-7pm. Telehealth consultation appointments are available during daytime and evening hours.
I am making all efforts to remain healthy, and plan to continue treating patients during my usual clinic days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday).
As a result of public health recommendations these are the current policies:
VCA Secord Animal Hospital will be open Monday through Friday from 8am-7pm. We are restricting access into the building to staff only, and staff members are keeping themselves at an appropriate physical distance to the best of their abilities while balancing the impact on the safe delivery of patient care. Increased surface sanitization beyond our usual infection-control procedures is in effect. Physical isolation distance standards and masks are requested outside the clinic front door and we ask that you please respect that for everyone’s protection. If at all possible please wait in your car and call or text us when you have arrived. I will call you when I am ready to take your pet into my office. I will speak with you over the phone before, during, and after I examine/treat your pet, as required. Staff can take your payment information over the phone or use a contactless terminal outside to arrange payment. Receipts and insurance forms will be emailed where possible.
We have a free delivery service on Wednesdays and Saturdays for food, herbal formulas, supplements, and medications (within our local delivery boundaries). I can also ship via Canada Post or courier if you are outside the delivery boundaries. I am waiving my prescription fee until further notice for those who request prescription medication refills from online pharmacies or local drugstores.
To book “telehealth” consultations regarding diet, phytotherapy, Herbal Medicine, and Supplements, please call 416-486-1700, email sedord@vca.com or text 647-. Please be patient as our reception staff is fielding more calls than usual.
If you are sick or have any symptoms, please stay at home, for the wellness of all.
Healthy regards,
Rona Sherebrin, DVM, CVA
